Magic Of Makeups

Last Saturday, we had an impromptu onsugarettes gathering which started at Centrepoint (Ichiban Boshi), continued on to Ion (Sephora) and ended at Wisma (Share Tea & Sasa) amidst lots of  chatting, laughter and swatching :)

There were so many lovely girls who turned up, like Kim, Jo, Rusty, Michelle, Charlene, Amy, Kas, Chantana, Sophia, Prisc, Fatin, Jennifer, Gwen (who dropped by for awhile), Jane & Imma.

I had wanted my makeup to match the maxi dress that I wore, so here was my look:

Was having a bad hair day so up went my fringe.

Struggled abit with my liner that day. Seems like it's dried out. Sigh.

I pretty much used the same products as my previous look, with the addition of MAC's Steamy for a pop of green and Colour Me Coral for a brighter lip.

Now on to my Forever 21 haul. They were actually from a spree that Prisc organised.

Fab Satin Sweetheart Dress $13.50

It was only USD13.50 and looks damn nice on the model but...sigh. Damn my pear shaped hips!

Sweetheart Bubble Dress $19.80

Now this one, I barely managed to zip myself into it and even then it threatens to cut off my air supply. Time to throw out those chips and chocolates! Am hoping to wear this for CNY but I guess we'll have to see if I can manage to lose a few (thousand) pounds first.

Sweetheart Mesh Bodycon Dress $24.80

Damn my hips again, but at least the material is stretchy. Though I doubt I'll be able to wear this out anytime soon. Not unless my saddle bags suddenly disappeared overnight.

High Waist Pencil Skirt $8.80

Fab Simple Woven Skirt $12.50

I have to say, I was really disappointed by this skirt cos from the pictures, it looked like it was made of good quality material but when I got my hands on the actual product, it was of flimsy quality. To my dismay, it ballooned in all the wrong places on me. But I think I might be able to make it work by layering either a long vest or jacket over it. *crossing fingers*

Criss Cross Mesh Dress $22.80

Surprisingly, I managed to squeeze myself into this dress, partly because of the stretchy material again and it doesn't look half bad! Lol. I loved the illusion that it gives of exposed skin under the mesh (it's actually the flesh colored lining). But still, don't worry, I won't go traipsing about town without a blazer or cardigan over it.

Flashy Leopard Bodycon Dress $19.80

The expression on my friend's face as I pulled this out of the bag was priceless. But I like it and it fits...kinda 8-P

Cuffed Blazer $22.80

Aaah finally we come to my favourite piece of the haul. It's my favourite cos firstly, it fits and secondly, it's black! Ha ha ha.

Well, lesson learnt: don't buy clothes online unless you're a UK size 6 (which I most definitely am not).

Ok here's what happened...

A few Saturdays ago, I met up with Kim, Jo, Jane and some of the other Onsugarettes in town for a short while, an early mini 'gift exchange' if you will heh heh. I also went shopping at BYSI and Forever 21 and a few other places. To cut a long story short, my purchases at both stores came up to the exact same amount of...drumroll please...$88! HUAT AH! Lol.

Sorry. I am easily amused by coincidences like these so I came up with the wacky post title hahaha.

Here's what I got from BYSI:

I was wearing rompers that day and I didn't bring in any tops to try in the fitting room so I requested for the sales assistant to help me to pick out any top to go with the skirt so that I would be able to judge it more accurately. And guess what happened? I liked the top so much that I bought it too. Let's hope that I'll be able to carry off this preppy-meets-baroque schoolgirl look ha ha.

And here's what I got from Forever 21:

I was having my doubts about the purplish pink dress but the price tag said $20 so I grabbed it. And I am totally in love with the 'holey' black singlet. I just don't know how I'm gonna wear it yet without flashing people (again) lol. I was totally amazed when the cashier rang up my purchases cos I was expecting it to be at least a hundred bucks but nooo...

I think they're having some major sale-ing going on there 8-P

Colour Club's Revvvolution

Of cos my nails don't look like that now no more hee. Just went to Kim's to have my nails extended. And now they're pink and glittery!

Before I started taking pictures of the Forever 21 dresses I've been hauling, I decided that enough was enough and I tidied up my wardrobes. Yes, I've got 2 of 'em gah. Though I spent most of my Saturday dumping and folding and stacking, I am in no way near done.

How on earth did this happen man. I am astounded by my hoarding. Still, I managed to throw out some clothes which had never seen the light of day and were yellowed and gross. Makes me feel so good to see a neater cupboard hee hee. Feels like my life is back in order, somehow :)

I'm gonna cheat a little and use some photos from the website cos I'm lazy lah lol.

I got this one shouldered dress in black and I've worn it twice already, once in Spore, once in TW. Very flattering and a guy even whistled at me and did a double take when I wore it lol. I know that most girls would find it insulting but for a nerd who never gets noticed for her looks, it was quite nice wahaha.

Somehow the colour looks kinda off here. It's actually not as blue as it looks. It's actually purple. I don't know why I bought it frankly. But it does make me look thinner lol. Maybe it's just the mirrors in the fitting rooms of Forever 21. Bleaugh.

I fell in love with it the moment I saw it. And when I zipped myself into it, wala! Perfect fit. Loves. Gonna find some excuse to wear it soon hee hee.

I seriously have no explanation for choosing this green dress but I liked the poofy detail in the middle which hides my wide hips and it looked cute hahaha. And it so happens that my company's theme for this year's Xmas dinner is Red, Green, Gold or White so I'll be wearing this!

I nearly got this in cobalt blue cos I thought that, hey, I don't need another black dress right? But when I tried both of them on, the black just stood out so much more. Really flattered my skin tone. I just can't carry off blue methinks.

The lace just got to me big time. Couldn't resist it though I'd probably end up wearing it with my black patent combat boots and leather cuffs LOL.

This was going for $21 so I thought, Why not? 8-P

I think I was in a gloomy mood that day so I ended up with this sunny yellow summer dress in the hopes that it would brighten up my day. It's a little too short though. Probably will have to wear a pair of shorts underneath than run the risk of flashing some poor unsuspecting kid while going up the escalator. Ah now we know the real cause of escalator accidents. Oops.

This isn't a dress but rather, a nightie whoops. I got this in the faint hopes of wearing it for *ahem ahem ahem* someday.

Ok folks, I think that's it for now. What a journey it's been! And what the hell am I talking about gah. It's late and it's time for bed. Night girls!

It seems that I can't go a month without buying any makeup. Or accessories. Or clothes. Or shoes. Sighz.

The following pictures will prove my point.

I knew I wanted to get the Revlon Nail Enamel in 115 Peach Petal ever since I saw it on the lovely Jen here. And since it was going for SGD$8.90 at Watson's, I grabbed it (cheaper than if it was on 20% off!).

As for the lipglosses, they were BOGO, so I grabbed the two colours (170 Coral Reef & 150 Peach Petal) that I had been eyeing ever since they first came out. I haven't tried them yet but from the testers, I think they're gonna be pretty sheer. Which is no biggie, cos it would mean that they wouldn't affect  the colour of whatever base lipstick I would be using. I love drugstore makeups! :)

The above eyeshadow palettes came from Muji. Like the concept of the brand itself, they were simply named Brown and Green respectively.

I attempted to swatch them but it was so bloody difficult to get my lao ya (= lousy) camera to focus on my fingertips =.=

I ended up with these:

At least can still see something lah hor? 8-P I think the darkest 2 shades of each palette are gorgeous hee.

And now we come to the Guerlain Ombre Eclat (I don't even know how to pronounce these words!) single eyeshadows!

Eeks! Totally blur and out of focus picture! Gah. But trust me, they look waaay better in real life.

On top of these, I was also on an accessories buying spree. Prices ranged from $6.90 - $21.90.

Actually some of these pieces have been lying around forever. I just happened to dig them all out while clearing my desk.

It's amazing how many earrings I can still buy even though my ears are not pierced right? They're just too pweety...
