So I was at Ion Orchard on Friday night with my JC classmate (who's lookin gorgeous btw, love her hair) and I had a short shopping list for some items I needed from Daiso.
As we stepped into the store, I was 'unconsciously' drawn to the cosmetics section and to my delight, I saw the much raved about Detergent for puff and sponge.
It says on the bottle (and I swear I didn't add the exclamation marks):
- Removes remaining foundation quickly!
- Keeps your makeup tools clean!
- Safe cleaner mostly composed of detergent kind to the skin and sponges!
- Disinfecting and Fragrance-free and contains no pigment.
- 80 ml approx. 2.8 oz.
How to use:
A dry sponge, apply an appropriate amount of the product, wash by hand and rinse thoroughly under running water.
Components:
- Surface active agent (34% Polyoxyethylene alkyl ether, Fattyacid alkanolamide, Alkyl betaine)
- Water softener (alkaline chemicals)
I've been on the lookout for this for quite some time now so I grabbed a bottle plus a few other things on my list and then some. Sigh. Shopping at Daiso makes me buy things I don't need!
I got a laundry bag (for the lazy days when I can't be bothered to hand wash my clothes), Kitchen cleaner wipes (for spring cleaning =.=), Easy-to-grab tweezer and lashes! The reason why I bought them was cos they looked quite similar to my favourite ones so I thought I'd give them a try. I'll probably feature them in a separate post.
Anyways I used the detergent on most of my brushes today and boy, was I disgusted by the 'juice' that came out of them. What I did was to fill a plastic cup with some water and a few drops of the detergent and I basically dipped my brushes head first into the mixture and swirled them around for a few seconds. Then I rinsed them under running water. Here are my face and eye makeup brushes laid out to dry.
So far, so good. There's no discernable smell to the detergent and the brushes look clean. And I still have like 97% of the detergent left. So it'll probably last me a long time :) Hooray for Daiso!
